Yesterday I was seen by Dr. Grossman and his excellent assistant who graduated from Durham College. I have been in dental chairs many many times over nearly 70 years, poor teeth. However, I have never had as pain-free and positive an experience as I had during my root canal yesterday. Dr. Grossman gave me the most comprehensive and visual description of the procedure that I have ever seen and I have had 11 root canal procedure. From the very start of the freezing process that he uses right through to the outcome on the second day, I have had virtually no pain. I cannot recommend Dr. Grossman‘s ability and patient service too highly. Thank you very much.

Root canal therapy (a root canal) is a common procedure at Whitby Endodontics. A root canal can restore an infected tooth to its natural function and appearance. Contrary to popular belief, it’s typically no more painful than filling a cavity. Dr. Grossman would suggest a root canal treatment if your cavity…
For a variety of reasons, root canal treatment may occasionally be unsuccessful, at which point additional treatment becomes necessary. One purpose of an endodontist evaluation is to identify specific causes of a dental problem and determine whether or not they will be able to correct it.
Sometimes, the best way to surgically retreat a failing root canal treatment is to approach it through the root instead of the crown. This approach is apical surgery or apicoectomy (surgery on the apex, or tip, of the root). Apical surgery may be indicated in the case of persistent, well-established infections or cysts…
A cone beam CT creates a 3D view and cross-sections of the target area. The information it provides is critical for a number of situations, including placing dental implants, performing a complex root canal or extraction, or searching for the source of pain or infection. CBCT gives us the information we need…
