Endodontic treatment (also called endodontic therapy or root canal therapy) is done to remove infected pulp tissue from a tooth to prevent further decay. It often means the difference between a patient being able to keep their tooth and needing to have it extracted.
Endodontic treatment focuses on saving your teeth. Dr. Grossman always recommends that, if possible, we save a patient’s tooth rather than extracting it and replacing it with an implant. Root canals have a very high success rate and are less costly than implants. When a tooth has undergone too much deterioration and there is no other choice then an implant, if possible, would be the alternative.
Dr. Grossman and Dr. Geisler specialize in root canals and all other root canal related therapies. This allows them to perfect the techniques used in saving your teeth and increases the success rate of such treatments. For more information on endodontic treatment, please see root canal therapy.
